After a great trip to Minneapolis. We left in the morning at 10 a.m. local time. Click here http://pathtracks.com/users/27788/paths/116915 view our original path. Please click the Hybrid on left corner of the map. Today is Day 8 , and our goal is to head towards Chicago. My impression on Minnesota is that it’s a beautiful state with a lot of trees. Since the entire state appeared green, I enjoyed the drive going to Chicago very much.
When planning this trip I made sure we would drive during the day to enjoy the scenic routes that the country has to offer. Wisconsin is also very green. The great thing about Wisconsin was the fact they are known for their "cheese". If you are into different kinds of cheese's then this place is definitely for you. For example at this one stop we made during the trip they had over 125 different types of cheese’s!
*Note Wisconsin is called the "Badger State"
Many fireworks were for sale as well, and I purchased some really rare fireworks on the way. Different states have different laws in regards to the sale and type of fireworks. Wisconsin had a variety of different types that are illegal in many other states.
When we arrived to the state of Illinois we noticed many toll roads. There were many toll stops on our way to our hotel. I was shocked to see Illinois as one of the "toll states" .
With our stops the trip took about 7 hours. The actual driving time is about 5 hours which was the shortest we have done thus far.
We arrived in Chicago and the weather was perfect! It was 75 degrees, and it was very refreshing!
